Rand Paul Polls Best Against Hillary In Latest Zogby
A recent Zogby poll taken June 27-29 shows Hillary Clinton’s numbers falling. This, according to Zogby, comes in large amount due to her lackluster book release. Zogby says that Hillary is such a known name that she doesn’t have any room to expand her base. For the first time since focus turned to the 2016 election, Hillary has dropped below 50 percent of the vote in head to head match ups against three of the leading GOP contenders.
Senator Rand Paul posts the highest current number against Hillary at 38, beating out former Florida Governor Jeb Bush by 1 point and beating Chris Christie by 5 points against Hillary. Zogby notes that Paul’s base continues to grow and solidify whereas, as noted, Hillary has no room to expand her base because her name is already known to potential voters.
“It is significant that in every case the runaway favorite again polls under 50 percent and that both Governor Bush and Senator Paul continue to increase their support among key groups. Clinton has almost universal name recognition among likely voters and it is unlikely that she could say or do anything to increase her support base,” said Zogby. Source.
